Humpback whales pass through Panama’s Pacific in a seasonal window generally associated with June to October. Peer-reviewed research in the Eastern Tropical Pacific describes breeding activity from June to November, with peak activity in August and September.
At Destiladeros, whales are observed by residents from the beach and, depending on sightlines and conditions, from private terraces during the season. Sea-turtle nesting in the region is generally associated with July to December.
Sightings are seasonal, depend on conditions and are never guaranteed. No species is claimed as nesting on any particular beach.
